Chitosan-gold nano-composite and its functionalized paper-strips for reversibly visual sensing and removal of trace Hg2+ in practice

To eliminate mercury contamination in aqueous environment, chitosan-gold nano composite and its functionalized paper-strips were identified and developed for visual sensing and removal of trace Hg2+. Just by immersing common filter-paper into the resultant composite dispersion, gold nano chromophores could disperse well with little aggregation by virtue of the double supporting roles of chitosan and filter-paper.
